African Wildlife
Experience the fauna of the Tugela Valley both nearby our accommodation and on personalised Big 5 game drives. Iconic wildlife is a staple of the African experience. Using techniques you’ve learnt during preparation sessions before you travel, you will never run out of subjects to sketch and paint!
Groups never have to go far to experience the fauna of Africa. Plenty of animals can be found close to your accommodation, such as the local giraffes, warthogs and small treasures such as chameleons. We will run sessions to find game on foot around the reserve (left), and you will never run out of things to sketch in your free time (middle)! You will also refine your field sketching skills by practising drawing quickly from photographs (right).
Our safaris also include several personalised game drives, specifically designed for art groups. Our expert guides will allow the group to stay as long as is needed in order to have enough time with each animal to sketch them and practise skills. Our game drives are held in a Big 5 game reserve so there is a chance of encountering iconic African wildlife such as elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard!
