Tutoring on Safari
Keeping it personal in small groups, Roz’s Art Safaris deliver bespoke opportunities to develop your natural history art skills - right in the heart of the African Bush. A relaxed atmosphere and the availability of unique and exciting subjects allows everyone to produce lots of quality work and improve their skills.
Prior to the trip, Roz hosts preparation sessions to practise advanced techniques such as sketching animals from life. She demonstrates continuous line drawing (left), suggesting shapes with different media (middle, right), and utilising negative space to capture strong lights and shadows (right). You will practice these skills before using them in Africa and Roz will draw upon terms mentioned in these sessions during the safari. These preparation sessions will be held online via Zoom, as her clientele are based around the country.
In the bush, professional hospitality and service from experienced field guides and expert tuition from Roz combine to create a bespoke experience. On our personalised game drives, we pause to have hot morning drinks or sundowners, and to add to or review sketches made during the drive (left). Despite the remoteness of our locations, we provide a multitude of media and mark-making tools to supplement the tools you are required to bring (middle). We also travel short distances and station ourselves around our accommodation and capture landscapes and botanical forms, relaxing in the shade as Roz gives you any guidance you need (right).
