This course is for those with some painting and drawing experience and an interest in plants, and concentrates on winter trees and foliage, looking at some of the spectacular ornamental bark species – not necessarily British ones - which have very colourful, shiny and particularly interesting textures or markings, like the Dogwoods (pictured), Cherries, Maples etc.
We’ll paint the colours, textures and shapes creatively and loosely, and include some effects of weather – snow or ice features perhaps - on the twigs or buds. We could also include the odd winter visitor like early butterflies or bees if students want………
